The SETS program
Free, practical casework for people settling in Australia, funded by the Department of Home Affairs and delivered locally by our settlement team.

- Permanent residents and certain visa holders in their first five years in Australia. Ask us and we will check with you.

How the program works
- Intake and triage when you first contact us
- Low and medium intensity casework, one on one
- Group information sessions
- Community capacity building with local multicultural groups
- Sector collaboration, including facilitating the Multicultural Interagency Network
- Cultural awareness training for organisations
What SETS caseworkers help with
- Housing applications and tenancy questions
- Enrolling children in school and yourself in English classes
- Medicare, Centrelink and other government services
- Finding work and understanding Australian workplaces
- Understanding letters, forms and bills
- Family safety and wellbeing referrals
Getting SETS support
- Contact us in any language. Tell us roughly what you need.
- We check your eligibility and pair you with a caseworker, with an interpreter if you want one.
- Your caseworker works with you until the problem is solved or safely handed to the right service.
